From 16 September to 11 October 2026, 33 on Bond at The Swiss Hotel School becomes “Raising the Steaks” – their third-year student restaurant project, transformed into a seriously tempting student-led steakhouse.
This is where The SHS culinary and hospitality students put three years of learning into practice. They are responsible for everything – creating the menu, preparing the food, managing the restaurant, serving guests and running the business behind the scenes. And they have certainly raised the bar.
On the menu you’ll find 350g Chalmar Ribeye, 14-day wet-aged Rump, Fillet and Sirloin, BBQ pork ribs, grilled kingklip and a panko & Parmesan-crusted chicken stack. Add some beef trinchado, Korean glazed chicken wings or loaded nachos to start, and you have a pretty good excuse for a night out!Then there’s dessert…
Paul’s Homemade Ice Cream has created something exclusively for 33 on Bond – “Pecan on Bond”. A limited-edition pecan pie-inspired ice cream created especially for this project. And yes, it is every bit as tempting as it sounds

Stephen’s first steps into entrepreneurship was Hickmore Recruitment / CareerMap, a leading supplier of Senior and Exec recruitment services. Stephen was a founder of Pple Hospitality (formerly HSC) the largest Hospitality Industry full-service outsourced staffing company in South Africa. In March 2020 Stephen became a director and owner of the Swiss Hotel School South Africa, which is now his full time passion.
