The internationally renowned Club Med brand is preparing to make its South African debut with the creation of a picturesque resort on the Dolphin Coast. reports – Due to start welcoming guests next year, this beachfront resort outside Durban will pair the luxury lifestyle that Club Med’s known for with a decidedly chic design aesthetic. Club Med’s entry to South Africa

Adding to its five existing properties in Africa, Club Med will officially enter the Rainbow Nation’s hospitality scene when it opens Club Med Tinley Manor Resort 60km north of Durban in KwaZulu Natal, according to The South African. Just like the brand’s other beachfront properties, this resort will be distinguished by its lavish indoor-outdoor oceanfront style, vibrant lifestyle offering and wealth of luxury amenities.

Here, the resort’s 350 guest rooms and 50 standalone villas will be joined by abundant amenities including a gourmet restaurant and bar, a Club Med spa, a conference centre, sports facilities and a kids club, as well as several swimming pools. From tennis and petanque courts to the oceanfront village with sunlounger-lined pool and bar, all of the facilities will be tucked into the greenery of this verdant coastline.

A stylish retreat outside Durban

Construction began on this 30-hectare-plus expanse of land following a ZAR 1 billion deal with landowner Tongaat Hulett Developments. South African firm Craft of Architecture has designed the resort’s architecture and stylish interiors.

In its prime coastal spot, the resort is easily accessible from Durban, and just 10km from King Shaka International Airport.

Club Med Tinley Manor Resort is currently expected to open in the first quarter of 2022.
